WHERE WE STARTED

CFMBC History

Christian Faith Missionary Baptist Church was founded and established March 27, 1969 by Rev. Williams Hayward Banks. Many things were accomplished under the leadership of Pastor Banks. After faithfully serving for 25 years Pastor Banks was called home to be with the Lord.

August of 1995, Rev. Roland Mouton, Sr. was elected pastor. Under his leadership “The Learning Ark” – Community Learning Center was established which partnered with Texas Southern University to serve the community. Classrooms, ladies lounge, reconstructed choir stand and other improvements were also made. Pastor Mouton finished his race after 17 years of faithful service.

The church is blessed to still have chartered members and descendants of cornerstone members still worshipping and working at Christian Faith.

To date our church has celebrated 47 years. We are thankful for the many blessings God has provided us through our current Pastor. Bishop Corey. S. Wilson has been leading Christian Faith since November 2012. Christian Faith is experiencing growth in membership and more importantly spiritual growth.

What We Believe

His vision for Christian Faith is outlined in the following scriptures:

Matthew 6:33 – 33But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Matthew 28:19–20

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen

We thank God for every year, every pastor, every ministry, every member, every soul saved and our future – for the Best is yet to come!

Vision

Our vision is to restore hope and wholeness to the body of Christ, while equipping the believers of Christ for the work of the ministry, assisting believers to levels of greatness, and cultivating relationships with Christ firsts and then others.

Mission

To Teach, Encourage, Motivate, Equip, believers with sound biblical doctrine that pulls them into God’s perfect will, plan and purpose for their lives.
